Core responsibilities will typically include:

  • Management of all HR issues, processes, procedures, and systems for the business.
  • Advise, guide and support employees on all areas of HR.
  • Coach managers to improve their knowledge and understanding.
  • Own the recruitment and onboarding functions.
  • Control of the HR system: ensuring starters/leavers are actioned and training delivered.
  • Ensure inductions and probations are well managed and aligned with business expectations.
  • Manage appraisals, evaluating against competency frameworks and development plans.
  • Review and update internal policies, procedures, and handbook.
  • Issue HR documents: employment contracts; pay reviews, Probation, and reference requests.
  • Liaise with external training providers to ensure training aligns with business strategy.
  • Manage the company pension scheme, absence and ‘Perkbox’ benefit scheme.
  • Monthly payroll update to the Accounts teams regarding any HR changes to personnel.
  • Maintain personnel files for the HR Team, ensuring GDPR compliance.
  • Collate data for the HR dashboard: sharing, analysing, and highlighting areas of focus.
  • Manage the Employee Forum, attending meetings, ensuring the quality of content.
  • Ensure accurate records are maintained electronically and distributed in a timely manner.
  • Update, maintain and communicate changes to the HR section of the website and intranet.
  • Complete the weekly internal HR Newsletter including any business updates and changes.
  • Review and evaluate progress to the Investors in People framework.

Ideal Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • CIPD qualification or near completion.
  • Experience of HR within telecoms, retail, call-centre, hospitality sector.
  • Demonstrates resolve and confidence when reaching a judgement.
  • Takes full ownership and responsibility for advisory activities relating to HR.
  • Unique and motivational approach to day-to-day tasks.
  • Takes a proactive approach to developing knowledge and skills within own profession
  • Builds trust and respect within the business, lead for HR.
  • Always seeks innovative ways of working.
  • Is approachable, with an effective communication style with all stakeholders.
