I’m currently representing a highly respected, established accounting and business advisory firm in the Riverhead, NY area that is looking to add a Staff Accountant to its team.
This is a particularly strong opportunity for a CPA, EA, or accountant actively working toward one of those designations who has 3–5+ years of experience and wants a genuine opportunity to grow professionally.

The Role
You'll work with a diverse portfolio of small business clients, handling accounting, tax preparation, compliance, and advisory-related responsibilities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing individual, business, and fiduciary tax returns
- Preparing federal and state tax filings
- Preparing payroll tax and sales tax returns
- Reviewing and analyzing accounting records and financial statements
- Providing small business accounting and bookkeeping services
- Working extensively with QuickBooks
- Communicating directly with clients regarding accounting and tax matters
- Taking on progressively greater responsibility as you develop within the firm
The Ideal Candidate
We're interested in speaking with professionals who have:
- 3–5+ years of accounting/public accounting experience
- Federal & state tax preparation experience
- Strong small business accounting experience
- Excellent QuickBooks skills
- CPA or EA designation OR actively pursuing CPA/EA
- Strong client-facing and communication skills
- An interest in eventually taking on management responsibility
Compensation
- $80,000–$100,000 base salary
