Warehouse Manager; join a well-known flooring supplier in the Construction Industry. Leading a team of 7 you will manage the day to day Operations for this busy Warehouse and Depot. The Warehouse is a fast-paced environment, they are looking for an experienced ‘sleeves rolled up’ Warehouse Operations professional with proven leadership experience who understands the Construction / Building Materials Industry to help take the Company forward to the next level.
Working 7am- 5pm Monday to Friday you will enjoy being in a hands-on role, spending time on the Warehouse floor as well delivering the office and administration aspects of this role.
Package:
- Basic salary to 40k doe per annum

Role:
Responsible for meeting the company’s operational objectives and for the smooth running of the warehouse (12,000 sq. ft) , logistics, health and safety, and cost control. You will work closely with the Transport Manager on a daily basis and manage a small team of Warehouse and Drivers.
- Managing of warehouse operations, staff, tidiness and efficiency
- Promote culture of identifying, sharing and delivering continuous improvement opportunities within the warehouse team
- Meet targets including delivery and customer service required standards and also operating costs
- Recruit, support and coach teams, ensuring the development and implementation of any necessary corrective actions, in order to meet short- and long-term business objectives
- Establish and meet targets in business performance including introduction and maintenance of accreditations, H&S and operating costs
- Liaise with internal teams effectively
- Proactively identify, propose and deliver opportunities for continuous improvement
- Conduct staff performance review and development meetings
- Responsible for meeting the operational objectives of the company
- Embed the business vision, culture and values in the organisation
- Ensure reports and actions to support senior management are completed in a timely and accurate way
Essential Skills for the role of Warehouse / Operations Manager
- Previous experience in a similar Warehouse / Operations / Depot / Branch lead role
- Knowledge of the Construction / Building Materials Industry
- Previously managed a team within a similar environment
- Have a strong understanding of warehousing and distribution systems and processes
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety
- Comfortable working under pressure and to tight deadlines, with changing priorities
- Has an eye for detail, is able to monitor performance, and think analytically
- Commercially and financially astute
- Possesses the personal and professional qualities to establish credibility and respect
- Able to build strong relationships with the stakeholders and staff throughout the business
- MS Office proficiency
- Ability to pick up new software / use an ERP system
- Forklift experience
Desirable: Counterbalance licence
